ManpowerGroup seeks to expand operations in Brazil after Olympic games

(Aug.17, 2016, /HRoot.com/)Recruitment firm ManpowerGroup has announced plans to expand it operations in Brazil following its work in the Rio 2016 Olympic Games. Its work included selecting 14,000 people out of 260,000 applicants to work for the International Olympic Committee and service providers for the event.

In addition, ManpowerGroup was selected by the Rio 2016 organising committee as the recruitment partner to provide a database of candidates for the third-party contractors – these were mostly in the service area, featuring roles such as drivers, sushi chefs, bar staff and butchers - for an estimated 85,000 outsourced jobs.

The company currently operates 18 offices across Brazil. Jonas Prising, CEO of the ManpowerGroup, has stated that it normally offers career guidance for those it contracts for limited time events, but in the case of the Rio 2016 Olympics he suggests it will be impossible to find jobs for everybody due to the sheer number. Prising also states that Manpower's operations in Brazil have benefited from the current economic difficulties, due to the number of temporary jobs available increasing.
